St. Joseph Mercy Oakland 1st Floor Addition & Renovations

This project consists of a first floor renovation and expansion of the hospital’s main entrance lobby. Lobby upgrades include a new cafe’, pharmacy, gift shop and concourse. Also included were new toilet rooms, lounge areas, a decorative fountain and the amenity of natural skylights to provide daylight accents to the renovated space. Ancillary work included a new radiology waiting room along with changing rooms for the radiology and ultrasound suites.

The 1,500 square foot lobby area addition consisted of a structural steel frame with an exterior skin of aluminum and glass, accented with decorative Alabama limestone that matched the adjacent, newly constructed surgical addition. The addition serves as a connector between the existing lobby and the new medical office building and surgical wing.

The aesthetics of this project were well thought out, including unique, decorative finishes and trim. The interior includes mutiple radius walls, decorative glass partitions and a new skylight system, as well as an abundance of custom millwork and wall paneling.
