Roncelli performed all of the concrete work for this 427,000 square foot expansion of General Motors Powertrain Division located in Pontiac, Michigan. Work included all building excavation work, specialized foundations and test equipment platforms, mechanical and fuel delivery tunnels and chases, anchor bolts and plates, all embedded angles, guard rail sleeves, slabs on grade and elevated slabs on metal deck. Formwork for the Power Plant, Chillers and Cooling Towers required precise construction for all of the structural concrete. The test platform concrete for the dyno laboratories required compliance with super-flat tolerances.
GM consolidated most North American Powertrain testing into this new state-of-the-art facility. The facility uses included two Dyno Wings, a Fuel Farm, a Central Energy Plant, and a material handling addition to their existing testing facility.
