Roncelli, Inc. was selected as the Construction Manager for Beaumont Troy’s 3rd floor OB Renovation program. This program was implemented to meet the increasing demands of the Family Birth Center services at Troy. This multi-phased, “Renovation In Place” project required major renovation while the department remained fully operational during the phased construction. The design was focused on improving efficiencies, operational flows and adding three new Labor and Delivery Rooms (LDR’s). The project consisted of one Emergency C-Section procedure room, four LDR’s annexed from the three North Nursing units converted to three new LDR’s, one Natural Birthing Suite with Birthing Tub, and aesthetic and functional upgrades to twelve existing LDR’s.
Special attention was given to planning and scheduling all work in these active areas with hospital management and departmental staff. The goal was to eliminate disruptions to patient care and comfort. Continual management of Beaumont’s Interim Life Safety Plan and Epidemiology Control Plan ensure that patient risk was minimized. All utility work, shutdowns and changeovers were scheduled at times that presented the least possible interruption to hospital operations.
