Roncelli was selected by DTE Energy through a qualifications-based procurement process to successfully transform their existing office space at their downtown Detroit Campus. Floor renovations were made to the Walker Cisler Building, the Service Building, the Systems Operations Center, and the General Office Building. Each floor typically runs on a 12 week project schedule. On average, Roncelli manages 4 – 5 projects simultaneously throughout the year.
These phased projects consist of complete demolition and abatement of existing office areas to create new open work station environments. This includes Conference and Training rooms, informal collaborative space and Café area on each floor. All new building systems are provided on each floor including
HVAC, plumbing, sprinkler, fire proofing, lighting, power, data, fire alarm and security.
Project challenges include the management of multiple, simultaneous phases of construction involving select demolition, renovations, temporary use and final use areas in a busy work environment. Great care is taken to minimize disruption to ongoing operations and building occupants.
Since DTE Energy implemented their Workplace Transformation Initiative in 2014, Roncelli has renovated 24 floors totaling 627,000 SF to date. Roncelli continues to renovate additional floors throughout the four main buildings at their Detroit Campus.
